Cue the Lights: Return of the Performing Arts at The Wharf // 10.12
October 15, 2021 @ 12:00pm
On October 12, leaders and enthusiasts of the performing arts gathered for a three-part show at The Wharf’s Transit Pier for District Fray and Event DC’s Cue the Lights event. United Fray founder and District Fray publisher, Robert Kinsler welcomed the audience, along with Kennedy Center‘s director of social impact, Victoria Baatin. Then, Kennedy Center Culture Caucus Member Ron Moten of Don’t Mute DC and the go-go band Pure Elegance kicked off the evening with a lively and engaging performance. Despite slight precipitation, the Washington Ballet presented a poignant dance film that was projected on a large screen. Signature Theatre‘s Awa Sal Secka and Mark G. Meadows closed the evening with several moving duets, including a beautiful rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Photos by Rich Kessler Photography.
