About This Event

The Metropolitan Beer Trail is returning for its second year with new participating locations, new prizes, and even more fun. Starting on April 14, 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail passport holders can begin checking in at 11 bars and breweries, all walkable or bikeable from the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

This year’s passport program is bigger than ever, with four new locations joining the original seven. This year’s participants are:

·                      Andy’s Pizza & Beer Garden (new participant)
·                     City-State Brewing Co. (returning participant)
·                     Crooked Run Fermentation DC (new participant)
·                     Dew Drop Inn (returning participant)
·                     Highbinder Bar at Alamo Drafthouse (new participant)
·                     Lost Generation Brewing Company (new participant)
·                     metrobar (returning participant)
·                     Red Bear Brewing Co. (returning participant)
·                     Right Proper Brewing Company (returning participant)
·                     Wunder Garten (returning participant)
·                     The Eleanor (returning participant)

The 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail program features a points-based system, enabling participants to complete the journey at their own pace. Registration for the passport is free and open now. Starting April 14, passport holders will earn 100 points each time they check in at one of the 11 participating Metropolitan Beer Trail locations. Points can be redeemed for the following prizes:

·                     Metropolitan Beer Trail koozie (400 points)
·                     Metropolitan Beer Trail beanie (700 points)
·                     Metropolitan Beer Trail 2023 commemorative t-shirt (1,500 points)

With the opportunity to revisit all participating locations and check in multiple times throughout the 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail Season (April 14 – December 31), passport holders can complete the Trail at their pace, redeem for prizes at various thresholds, and/or continue to accrue points throughout the season.

At the close of the 2023 program on December 31, the passport holder who has earned the most points throughout the season and checked in at least once at all 11 participating locations will be recognized as the “MBT MVP” and will receive $25 gift cards to each of the 11 participating locations, a prize valued at $275.

Pre-registration for the 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail passport is now open at  MetropolitanBeerTrail.com. Follow the hashtag #DrinkMBT for updates and information on special events happening on opening weekend, April 14-16, 2023.
