Get ready for a night of epic classic rock and incredible giving! On March 9th, 2024, the renowned Rock and Roll for Children Foundation (RRCF) presents their annual benefit concert at the Fillmore Silver Spring. Taking the stage to headline this year’s philanthro-palooza are none other than blues rock icons Foghat.

With a classic catalog of anthems like “Slow Ride” and “Fool for the City,” Foghat’s dynamic live performances have cemented their status as one of rock’s most electrifying touring acts. Boasting an impressive eight gold albums, plus platinum and double platinum sales milestones, their music has captivated generations of fans. Founding drummer Roger Earl shares Foghat’s enthusiasm for this special event: , “We have been wanting to do something like this to help children and their families for a long time.” The band has been touched by childhood illness so,”this is something the band really cares about.”

In addition to their classic trademark hits, concertgoers can look forward to Foghat unleashing tracks from their latest #1 Billboard blues album “Sonic Mojo.” The eclectic setlist promises to be a true feast for classic rock aficionados. One lucky fan will even score a priceless piece of Foghat history, as Earl’s authentic Ludwig drum kit used on the 1994 album “Return of the Boogie Men” hits the auction block.

But the star-powered evening doesn’t stop with the headliners. The ultimate Fleetwood Mac tribute Tusk, renowned as the world’s premier experience honoring the legendary band, will be opening for Foghat. Local favorites Mojo Sun and special guest saxophonist Ron Holloway will also entertain the crowd. Celebrated vocalist Christine Ohlman, dubbed the “Beehive Queen,” has a few special surprises up her sleeve as she plans to join both Foghat and Mojo Sun for unique on-stage collaborations.

The philanthro-palooza extends beyond the music with a show-stopping charity auction. Up for grabs are autographed guitars from music icons like The Eagles, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones and more. Swifties can even vie for two signed Taylor Swift guitars.

Since 2004, the nonprofit Rock and Roll for Children Foundation has raised nearly $1 million for pediatric causes, over half a million directly benefiting The Children’s Inn at NIH. This extraordinary organization provides a welcoming “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at the National Institutes of Health.

As RRFC founder and co-chair Jon Belinkie declares, “The Children’s Inn at NIH is truly one of the most special places.” All proceeds from this powerhouse evening of music and philanthropy will support the Inn’s mission of pediatric health, education and welfare.

Don’t miss your chance to witness rock royalty while giving back in a big way! Secure your tickets now for the unforgettable Rock and Roll for Children 2024 Benefit Concert on March 9th at the Fillmore Silver Spring. Let’s raise the roof and funds for kids battling illness, so they can simply enjoy being kids.
