The VIVA School of Dance is presenting the Inaugural Envision Gala on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at the Planet Word Museum. Hosted by multimedia talent Angela Stribling, the evening promises captivating performances by acclaimed guest artists and choreographers alongside current students and alumni from the school’s pre-professional program as well as a cocktail reception and special after hours access to the museum.
Funds raised from this gala performance will support The VIVA School, a DC-based dance school that is pioneering a new model of equity in the arts. With responsive efforts aimed to address inequitable representation in the artform, VIVA is committed to creating a pipeline of talent that is inclusive of dancers and leaders of color.
The evening will feature notable performances by Clifton Brown and Miranda Quinn of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Jacqueline Green Miller, of TDA Prep and formerly of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Roderick George of William Forsythe, Cedar Lake, Gothenburg DansKompani, and Coral Dolphin, formerly of Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, A Dance Company.
Current students and alumni from The VIVA School’s talented pre-professional program will perform in several works by guest choreographers Fredrick Earl Mosley of Diversity of Dance, Inc., and Roderick George, of William Forsythe, Cedar Lake, Gothenburg DansKompani.
