Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos
The Peale Museum
About This Event
On Tuesday, Nov. 1, the National Museum of the American Latino will celebrate Día de los Muertos in Baltimore with friends from The Peale and Johns Hopkins University with an evening of special events. The Latino Museum will offer an ofrenda and procession to honor and support healing in the community of Uvalde, Texas. The muralist and altarist Frida Larios has been commissioned to create the ofrenda and a mural. The mural honors those killed in a mass shooting at Rob Elementary School. Nov. 1 also marks the closing of the “Hostile Terrain 94” exhibition brought to The Peale by Johns Hopkins University. Mufasa Cruz Moreno, an undergraduate student at JHU, will guide a special tour of the exhibition. |
