Home Delivery Plus Preview: The String Queens
In this free preview of “Home Delivery Plus,” adventurous and energizing D.C.-based trio The String Queens take the stage at Sixth & I in a festive mix of holiday favorites and pop classics. As Mars Arts D.C. Ensemble-in-Residence, the Queens are celebrated for a repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the Jazz Age to today’s Billboard “Hot 100.” Their members have collaborated with the likes of Ledisi, Solange, Leslie Odom Jr., Janelle Monáe, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Common and the late Aretha Franklin. All three are also frequent collaborators with dozens of local students as music teachers in D.C. schools. 8 p.m. Free. www.washingtonperformingarts.org // @washingtonperformingarts

Profs & Pints Online: You Better Watch Out
These days, the holidays are all about joyous magic, warm evenings curled by the fire and celebrations of the good in the world. Traditionally, however, the winter season also ushers in the terrors of the dark and the cold. Winter Glow at Mount Vernon
See George Washington’s mansion lit in beautiful amber light as you hear classic holiday music and patriotic quotes. View the upper garden and greenhouse aglow in blue and lavender lights, and watch as wintery light patterns move throughout the space. National Museum of Women in the Arts Collection Highlights
Unable to visit the museum in person? Then this drop-in virtual “tour” is for you. Roo Panes: On a Winter’s Night
Join musician Roo Panes and his friends for a one-off live performance, filmed at a cozy cottage in the British countryside. The band recently assembled on a winter’s night to bring you a collection of new and old songs in a fun and intimate acoustic show, complete with slippers and wooly hats. Poseidon’s Chest at Neptune Room
