Signature Theatre is proud to announce the new cinematic concert Signature Vinyl. Put your records on for a sizzling tribute to the golden age of the turntable, featuring the hits of Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Carole King, Marvin Gaye, Berry Gordy, Joni Mitchell, Elton John and others. DC Cocktail Week
Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) kicks off its celebration of cocktail culture and restaurants as DC Cocktail Week returns at more than 75 restaurants across the Metropolitan Washington region. The limited-time food and drink pairings are available for indoor and outdoor dining, takeout, delivery, and curbside pickup, depending on the participant. Select restaurants will also offer cocktail kits to-go, where diners can order the kit and make the cocktail in the comfort of their own home with easy-to-follow instructions or video tutorials. New for this year, Cocktail Week offers an impressive lineup of seven marquee virtual events through live interactive conversations, educational programming and exclusive experiences. Diners can see the list of participating restaurants and register for the marquee virtual events here. Virtual Poetry Reading: To Enter the World
Celebrated transgender poets Stephanie Burt and Taylor Johnson will share work that explores regional and gender identity, followed by a short discussion at the end of the reading with questions taken from viewers using the question-and-answer feature in Zoom. The reading is part of Folger Shakespeare Library’s O.B. Psalm’s Salons: Widening the Tent
Studio Theatre and artist-in-residence Psalmayene 24 will convene with theater leaders Wendy C. Goldberg, Idris Goodwin and Brian Quijada for their next virtual Psalm’s Salons event to reflect on expanding inclusivity in American theater. The panel will discuss how their own unique cultural identities (Jewish, Black and Latinx, respectively) have been powerful influences in their personal and professional journeys, their long history of collaborating together, and their hope and vision for the field.
