Welcome to District Fray’s Quarantine Social Club roundup, where our chief anti-boredom officer (just kidding, assistant editor) gives you things to do when you have nothing to do. Below are some events from our friends around town that we think are worth checking out this weekend.

FRIDAY, MAY 8

Members of the NSO: Marissa Regni, Alexander Jacobsen, Mahoko Eguchi with John Hughes
Missing all of the Kennedy Center’s NSO Programming across the city? Grab a cocktail (bonus points if it’s in a reusable Kennedy Center cup you saved) and some snacks and get cozy with NSO members with this Friday’s Couch Concert. Watch and Follow #KCCouchConcerts On: Facebook and YouTube. You can also access past concerts here.

Art Talk with Shana Kohnstamm
You can enjoy art from home and learn virtually with this programming series from Strathmore, led by Strathmore Exhibition Coordinator Gabrielle Tillenburg where local artists speak to their craft and creativity online. This week, Shana Khonstamm, who works with the ancient craft called felting, will give the art talk. At Strathmore, Kohnstamm was previously featured in the 32nd Biennial Exhibition of the Creative Crafts Council at Strathmore. Free with RSVP. To register and for more information, click here.

SATURDAY, MAY 9

Virtual Pong Tournament
Were you a pong champion in your past life, or maybe just in your not socially distant life? Join Fray and Corona Premier to show your skills off while keeping at a distance. Prizes for winners and participants will be plenty, and 50 percent of proceeds from your ticket will be donated to the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. 2 p.m. EST, sign up here.

SUNDAY, MAY 10

Live Four-Hour Intensive Tarot Training
Learn the ancient art of Tarot and its modern applications with Emily of Woven Psyche (bonus: read our interview with Emily from the March issue here). This intensive, deep dive four-hour class will cover all you need to know about Tarot, and no prior experience is necessary. The class is $75 and you can register here.

ANYTIME

Dischord Records’ entire catalogue is now available totally free online. You can support them during the next Bandcamp Sale, where 100% of proceeds go to artists, on Friday June 5.

Read our May issue, live now! Yay!

Up your cocktail game with @libations_for_isolation.

DC Fray’s Virtual Events are chock full of fun things to do.
