Fans gathered on September 7 to watch and listen to Sheffield natives Arctic Monkeys in a sold-out show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. An astounding total of three songs from “The Car” played for a tour named after the album, but that didn’t stop fans from enjoying the show. Hearing “There’d better be a Mirrorball” struck hard and dazzling to mirror the ‘minimalist disco’ set. “Fluorescent Adolescent’s” opening riff sent the crowd into an uproar of excitement, as it came out of its long retirement. The pinnacle of “2007 tumblr-core” angst rang out. The set design for the show included retro dancing lights and a mirror ball that dropped to the stage halfway through the set to represent their newer sound. Photos by Kimchi Photography.
