The uniquely D.C. event ‘Awesome Con’ returns for its 11th year on March 8th-10th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Washington D.C. transforms into a haven for pop culture enthusiasts of all ages. Whether you’re a die-hard comic book collector, a casual fan of sci-fi flicks, or someone who just appreciates good cosplay, Awesome Con has something for everyone.

Each year Awesome Con brings over 60,000 fans together for a weekend full of their favorite comics, TV shows, movies, toys, games and so much more. This year, guests are invited to a variety of unique show features such as; Science Fair, Book Fair, Awesome Con Jr and Pride Alley combined with many more.

Heather Barnes has worked with LeftField Media for the last 5 years (the company that produces Awesome Con) and feels that the event is an experience like no other for locals and travelers alike!

“All are welcome, and all are encouraged to let loose and just be themselves. The “weird” is not weird here; we’re all about fun and acceptance at Awesome Con,” said Barnes.

You can also count on celebrity guests and a fresh talent lineup as well as games and cosplay exhibitor booths; each year the event evolves into something shiny and new!

Get up close and personal with industry legends, snag autographs and even attend panel discussions where you can hear first-hand stories from the people who bring your favorite characters to life.

Don’t forget about the shopping! With rows upon rows of vendors selling everything from rare comic books to handmade crafts, Awesome Con is a treasure trove for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re on the hunt for vintage action figures or searching for that elusive issue to complete your collection, you’re bound to find it here.

Awesome Con provides a sense of community. There’s something truly magical about being surrounded by thousands of people who share your passion for all things nerdy. Whether you’re striking up conversations in line for a panel or bonding with fellow cosplayers over your shared love of a particular fandom, you’re sure to make memories that will last a lifetime.

“Awesome Con is a fantastical once-in-a-lifetime experience for both kids and kids at heart you can have over and over again,” said Barnes.

Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on this epic weekend of geeky goodness!
