From August 30 to September 3, the annual DC Jazz Festival returned with an extraordinary lineup of international and locally acclaimed jazz musicians. The five-day festival featured 100 concerts at 30 venues citywide.
On Saturday, The Wharf’s docks turned into an outdoor concert hall with back-to-back performances from multiple jazz artists. Charles Lloyd, Arturo O’Farrill, Warren Wolf and Birkhead all performed, along with an evening performance at Union Stage with Next Jazz Legacy and Orrin Evans Imani Jam.
