Welcome September with Labor Day festivities, a new exhibit at Artechouse, and lots of live stream concerts to enjoy at home. Read on for all this and more in our weekend events calendar.

Artechouse’s Beyond the Blooms Installation
Covid-19 put a damper on enjoying the cherry blossoms this year, but you can experience them again in a new and unique way at Artechouse’s Beyond the Blooms installation. Celebrate spring late and enter an immersive world of blooms re-imagined with cutting-edge interactive technology. Artechouse has reopened with timed entry, so register online before your visit to secure your time slot. Live from the Mansion: Christylez Bacon + Nistha Raj
Strathmore’s virtual concert series is bringing inspiring music and conversations held at the Mansion at Strathmore to you. Host Christylez Bacon is taking the artist’s seat this time, joined by talented violinist Nistha Raj for a unique bridging of cultures. Labor Day Fireworks Display
Enjoy a beautiful and festive fireworks display at Running Hare Vineyard. Choose from standard seating includes outside and lawn seating for the show with access to the outdoor wine pavilion, Southern Maryland Biergarten, wine slushies, food and more. Feeling fancy? Premium seating allows you to sit in the air-conditioned Tuscan Events Building for a premium view of the fireworks in addition to the perks of a standard ticket. Noseda Fridays
Enjoy a new concert from the National Symphony Orchestra every other Friday until September 25 with help from the Kennedy Center. The Kennedy Center will be sharing their archive of live full orchestra broadcasts streamed on-demand for free. Programs are accessible for 30 days starting at 8 p.m. the Friday they are released. Blood and Strikes: American Labor in the 20th Century
Learn about the bloody and controversial struggle for workers’ rights in 20th century America. Strikes, explosions and more punctuate the essential struggle for the workers’ rights we know in modern times. Face masks are required. 2-3:30 p.m. Tickets $10. Live Streamed Concert at Park Up DC
Members of the National Symphony Orchestra will perform a physically distant concert in celebration of Labor Day on the Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage, which will be live streamed at Event’s DC’s Park Up DC, the pop-up drive-in movie theater at RFK. The live stream is free to attend and Park Up DC will be open to up to 350 cars. Arlington Labor Day Weekend Festival of the Arts
Enjoy a weekend of true visual inspiration as over 100 artists showcase their works in Arlington. Labor Day BBQ Tour & Take-Out
Walk in the footsteps of presidents and freedom fighters, historians and fiction writers in this fun tour with The Mansion on O. With over 100 rooms and 70 secret doors to explore, there’s plenty to find. After your tour, take home some delicious District Pit BBQ to enjoy.
