Story District’s 5th annual anti-Valentine’s Day contest for the lovelorn, disappointed, and heartbroken returns February 14 at the Howard Theatre.

It’s a race to the bottom of a crowded playing field of disappointed daters in the DMV. This Valentine’s Day, storytellers compete for their chance to win the coveted honor of being named 2023’s Worst Date Ever. After hearing all the hilariously heartbreaking true tales told live, the audience decides which story is the biggest dating dumpster fire. 

Story District’s Artistic Executive Director Amy Saidman understands the pain behind Worst Date Ever. “I have been on all the apps and it’s grueling out there. The silver lining to a bad date is entertaining friends afterward. The worse the date, the better the story. We started this show as a source of comedy and catharsis to folks in the dating trenches.”
