About This Event

Mess Hall’s popular butchering series, Some Disassembly Required returns for another appearance on Friday, September 30 from 6:30 – 9:30pm.

Join Mess Hall for our signature whole-animal butchering class, paired with local craft beer & dinner by Sloppy Mama’s Barbeque – aka your best Friday night this September!

What to expect:

Gather at Mess Hall to watch “Your Farmer,” Andrew Crush, break down a beautiful free range, heritage pig, raised on his own local farm (Spring House Farm, in Lovettsville, VA). During the interactive 3 hour event, Andrew will cover many butchering and farming techniques, while you indulge in beers and BBQ. Yes, you can don gloves and participate in some sausage making. Unlimited Q&A.

Pitmaster Joe Neuman of the award-winning Sloppy Mama’s Barbeque, (a Mess Hall graduate) will provide a dinner of pulled pork and smoked sausage, plus sides.

All attendees will go home with beautiful heritage pork from the evening with tips on how to prepare.

We will also host an auction at the end of the night for you to bid on premium cuts to take home after the class!

Ticket Options (all ticket levels include dinner, unlimited local craft beers and butcher’s bag of fresh cuts of pork and/or sausage):

  • VIP Ticket Holders will receive a Butcher’s Goodie Bag of 2-3 lbs of heritage pork to take home and an exclusive Some Disassembly Pig T-Shirt. Reserved seating for dinner includes a bottle of One Eight Distilling Bourbon.
  • General Admission Ticket Holders will enjoy the butchering class and approx. 2 lbs of this beautiful heritage pork to take home.

We keep our butchering classes small, which means tickets are extremely limited. Please drink responsibly.

Spring House Farm is a family-owned farm. It raises beef, pork, goat, lamb, and poultry, utilizing sustainable, ecologically-friendly farming practices.

Dinner Provided by: Sloppy Mama’s Barbeque!
