About This Event

Jazz is back in Rosslyn this September with local artists, food trucks, drinks, merch and more! Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, we’re bringing three local acts to the stage in Gateway Park for an afternoon of food, music and fun as the culmination of a three-week celebration of jazz.

Jazz Fest is FREE and registration is strongly encouraged to help ensure the safety of attendees. Walk-ups will be admitted based on availability and capacity of the space. Check-in will begin at 12:15 p.m. and guests should plan to access Gateway Park through the middle entrance on Langston Blvd (formerly Lee Hwy).

Making lunch plans? In addition to the beer and wine bar, there will also be food trucks onsite, including Savor 503 , Dogs on the Curb, 7 Starr Wings, 7 Starr Sweets, and Mardi Gras Tyme. Attendees are also encouraged to bring takeout from Rosslyn’s restaurants to eat while you enjoy the show! Jazz Fest 2021 Lineup:

1-2 p.m. | Three Man Soul Machine

Blending the music of Soul, Jazz, Blues and Reggae, Three Man Soul Machine puts together a musical gumbo that stretches from Africa to the Caribbean and lands home in the USA. Hopefully, in one of these provinces of musical bliss, you, the listener, can find a home. Three Man Soul Machine features Scott Schoem on Organ, Mylie Durham IV on Drums and Frank Mitchell Jr. on Tenor Saxophone. Learn more about the band here.

2:30-3:30 p.m. | Aaron Myers

Entertainer. Artist. Veteran. Entrepreneur. Believer. These are just a few of the titles claimed by DC-based jazz artist Aaron Myers, whose life story is anything but typical. Originally from Goodlow, Texas, Myers found his passion for performing at an early age while playing music in the church, eventually choosing the piano as his instrument of choice. His soulful baritone voice, second-to-none stage presence and captivating personality make him one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in jazz! Visit Aaron’s website to learn more here.

4-5 p.m. | Sin Miedo

Sin Miedo is Spanish for “Fearless” and it is also the name of one of the best Salsa ocherstra in Washington DC. Led By French pianist Didier Prossaird, the name sums up the band’s attitude towards music. Sin Miedo has been performing in the DC/Baltimore area for the past 20 years, collaborating with Salsa greats Tito Allen and Frankie Vasquez, touring the US and abroad with the Washington Ballet, playing for musical theater in many of Teatro Gala’s productions and providing Salsa music for the hottest dance night is the Capital. The repertoire of the band includes the Salsa classics of the 70’s to today as well as original music with Spanish and French lyrics. Learn more about Sin Miedo and read the full bio here.
