More detailsAbout This Event
Washington D.C.’s International LGBTQ Film Festival, Reel Affirmations, returns to the nation’s capital for its 29th year with live screenings kicking off on Thursday, Oct. 20, running through Sunday, Oct. 23. This year at the E Street Cinema (555 11th St NW, DC 20004 ), the four-day schedule of events includes 14 feature-length films from 9 countries with genres including comedy, drama, and documentary. All feature-length films will also be available virtually using the online platform Eventive, plus an additional 27 short films will be available exclusively online during the festival. General admission tickets begin at $15 for live screenings, the economical Threesome Pass is $30 (3 live screenings), $10 for virtual screenings, and All Access passes start at $125.
About the film: What happens when Oscar-winning filmmaker Debra Chasnoff is diagnosed with a deadly disease? She turns the camera on herself and her family to tell an emotionally raw, funny, and profoundly intimate story about hanging onto life, while preparing to let it go. Clear-eyed and unsentimental, it is an unforgettable, present-tense diary of a life fiercely lived, and a love worth fighting for.
