“POSITIVE FURY”: Charlie Visconage Solo Exhibit at HOMME Gallery Opening
HOMME Gallery on 52 O St NW
More detailsAbout This Event
“POSITIVE FURY” is Charlie Visconage’s solo exploration of people’s faces in large formats. Each portrait features a heavily eye-bagged, smile-lined, neon-drenched, and pockmarked person with intense eyes and big ole teeth. The accompanying text explores the soul of the subject; their excitement, joy, misdeeds, joys, shame, secrets, and mantras that get them through the day. Psychedelic colors, a sense of fun, many thick layers of paint, and big block letters unite each piece in their aim to grab the viewer and never let go.
The exhibition opens on Friday, May 6, 2022, at HOMME Gallery on 52 O St NW in Washington, DC from 7-9 PM. The works will be hanging through May 22 by appointment only. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door.

Baltimore-based synth pop musician Shining Seconds created an original album to accompany these works which plays with the show. The album is also available on Band Camp and streaming platforms for your listening pleasure.
