Hosted by Game Genius, Play Week is a 7-day stretch of design workshops, public challenges, and helpful resources that promote the power of play in the Washington DC region. In 2022, the event theme is Literacy and its many forms — from language and cultural to financial and technical.

Play Week also serves as the design kickoff for our fall capstone event called the District Hunt. We’re looking for curious souls and creative minds to help us build the city-wide adventure!

So whether you’re new to games, an experienced pro, or somewhere in-between, anyone is welcome to sign up for these 4 interactive, virtual play sessions:

• Sunday, March 20: Interested in the intersection of storytelling and games? Help us draft the game narrative for our fall puzzle hunt!

• Tuesday, March 22: Looking for some mid-week fun? Let’s test your game knowledge and skills in our unique virtual challenges!

• Thursday, March 24: Are you a literacy nonprofit leader or staff member? Come learn more about how your org can benefit as a puzzle hunt event partner.

• Saturday, March 26: Interested in place-making and creating puzzles? Help us craft clever challenge ideas for our fall puzzle hunt!
