Plant Forward Experience – September
MITA
More detailsAbout This Event
Chefs Miguel Guerra and Tatiana Mora are proud to announce the return of the acclaimed pop-up, MITA, a contemporary concept where Latin vegetables and flavors take center stage. The restaurant will open for two consecutive days (September 23 and 24) at Union Market’s La Cosecha located at 1280 4th St NE, Washington, DC.
While Latin American dishes are often protein-centric (like ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, beef stews), there are an infinite number of vegetables that, when they come together, create some of the most incredible plant-based dishes. MITA’s mission is to instigate a new way of eating that is not only healthy but also sustainable. Not too long ago, plant-based restaurants catered to a specific clientele but today, more and more individuals are becoming conscious of the benefits of consuming more plant-based products.
Miguel and Tatiana’s bring their Latin American heritage with an ingeniously crafted menu of the best products from the region. Feature dishes include Achiote Marinated Kabocha Squash; the signature Watermelon Crudo (watermelon, fermented carrots and wild rice); and Spiced Papaya for dessert. The experience consists of eight courses and is priced at $85 per person. Reservations are available through Tock.
