More detailsAbout This Event
Cimafunk
Cimafunk is an Afro-Cuban rockstar. His name refers to his heritage as a cimarrón, Cubans of African descent who resisted and escaped slavery, as well as to the essence of his music, which aims to subvert conventional sounds with rhythmic innovation. His sonic amalgam is a head-bopping celebration of Black music’s power to eclipse borders and cross-pollinate across cultures.
Cory Henry
Hailing from Brooklyn, Cory Henry is a Grammy award-winning keyboardist with a dynamic, neo-soul- and funk-infused musical identity. His music is inspired by church sermons that bloom into group sing-alongs — that energy is apparent in his Tiny Desk concert with The Funk Apostles, which boasts almost 2 million views. We can’t wait to welcome him back to an NPR stage this November.
Leikeli47
Leikeli47, an artist whose Tiny Desk concert boasts more than a million views, is bursting at the seams with creativity. The masked singer’s music is marked by her one-of-a-kind flow that’s playful, yet serious. Across her albums, Leikeli47 raps over electro synths, handclaps and bouncy bass, creating a manifesto for radical self-love in real time.
