Art Of Noize is proud to present bimonthly evenings of fellowship and community-building centered around musical exploration. Occurring twice a month on Saturdays from 8-11:30 p.m., the sessions will provide a space for the DMV’s many professional musicians to come together after their other gigs across the city to learn from each other, explore new musical ideas, and above all, to entertain audiences eager to share in the atmosphere of excitement that only new collaboration can foster. At a competitive price point of $18 (including a free drink) and discounts for musicians, the Sessions also attempts to lower the barrier for entry to those who are usually unable to afford attending live music in DC’s pricier clubs and music venues.

Usually led by Tyler Leak (@lefthand_leak), the house band will open up the evening with a dynamic set of music informed by developments of jazz-infused sound from the 21st century, while also exploring ways to represent older jazz standards for a modern audience. After about an hour of music from the house band, Tyler will open the session, laying down the ground rules for newcomers and welcoming more experienced musicians to come to the stage when they feel the right moment.
