National Museum of African American History and Culture
More detailsAbout This Event
Infuse curiosity, imagination, and wonder into your journey toward a well-balanced life. Museum Meetups allow you to connect creatively and find a new sense of inspiration among like-minded peers. Each meetup offers an opportunity to step away from routine, embrace local history and world cultures, and deepen your sense of creativity.
Through imaginative, mindfulness games, meditation practices, and human connection, you’ll engage your senses, open your mind, and discover each museum in new ways. Guided by prompts, you’ll explore the exhibits in a playful, reflective manner, viewing art, sculptures, fossils, and more from fresh perspectives. Open to all ages!
2/9- “Reclaiming My Time” presents furniture designs by contemporary Black designers. Their work highlights how objects can provide opportunities for rest and reconnection to cultural heritage.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by an Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans.
Entrance to the museum is free by ticketed reservation only. Please RSVP to receive your attendance confirmation.
