About This Event
Melk is a group of aspiring optimists who make music about the bizarre interactions that interrupt the mundanities of day-to-day life and the way objects interact with our experiences and memories. Unlike the dairy beverage of a similar name, Melk’s music blends emotions that are both sweet and sour. Drawing inspiration from genres such as punk, shoegaze, and synthpop, their music has been compared to that of bands such as Alvvays, Retirement Party, and the Cranberries.
After self-recording and producing their 2020 single “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” in the basement of a friend’s DC row home, Melk recorded their second EP “Somebody, Nobody, Anybody” at Headroom Studios with producer and engineer Kyle Pulley. It will be released on January 14th.
