Welcome to an evening of world-class jazz from Iceland and Norway!

The Icelandic and Norwegian Embassies join forces to co-present Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio and the Ole Mathisen Renderings Quartet.

Sunna, whose work has been lauded by The Washington Post as “elegantly bridging soul-searching passages with uncluttered swing,” has performed in leading jazz festivals around the world.

Ole, who heads the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program at Columbia University, is an award-winning saxophonist and composer with over a hundred CD releases and several music and television compositions under his belt.

The concert at the Norwegian Embassy will take place on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022, from 6:30-9:30 pm.

The 16th Annual Nordic Jazz Festival will take place from June 17 to June 22 at sites around DC. This year’s festival is a partnership between the DC Jazz Festival and the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
