The ninth annual Hoop for Hope basketball tournament takes place Saturday, September 18, starting at 1 p.m at Banneker Recreation Center. Hoop for All, the hosting D.C.-based non-profit, is raising funds to cover medical expenses for cervical cancer patients within the community. The event is meant to raise awareness around treatment, testing, and prevention of cervical cancer.

Hoop for Hope intends to merge their values of community and philanthropy with this year’s basketball tournament. While the main attractions of the event include the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a 3-point and dunk contest, vendors, raffles prizes, food, back to school supplies and more — attendees can also expect free COVID-19, heart rate, blood pressure, and HIV/STI testing.

Hoop for Hope is excited to host community members for a day of fun, rallied behind a good cause. General admission is free.
