Holiday Baking Survival Guide with Mary Lee Montfort
Bold Fork Books
About This Event
At Bold Fork Books we always have grand plans of holiday baking: tins of cookies for all our friends! For our awesome neighbors! To take to every party we get invited to! For the family that stops by uninvited! And yet…without proper planning it’s easy to get so overwhelmed that you wind up just creating a great big mess (and running to Trader Joe’s for a desperation package of Joe Joes.)
Good news: Mary Lee Montfort has got you covered this holiday season. Author of BAKING THE BEST OF MARY LEE’S DESSERTS and a lifelong professional baker who one holiday season baked more than 1000 cookies, she is here to get you organized and prepared for your most successful (and worry-free) holiday baking season ever.
Mary Lee will go through many of the most crucial parts of big-batch baking that we so often overlook: creating a master baking calendar, shopping and pantry strategies, time organization and making sure you have the right ingredients and equipment. And we’ll have lots of time for questions and solving baking conundrums.
Mary Lee will also speak about the mission of her book– BAKING THE BEST OF MARY LEE’S DESSERTS– which emerged during the pandemic. All profits from her book are donated to charity and we’ll welcome World Central Kitchen’s Senior Manager for Donor Relations Meg Robbins who will share about the work they do all over the world.
We’ll get to sample a smorgasbord of her best holiday creations and as a special bonus she is bringing one of the most powerful tools from her secret baking arsenal: the most beautiful baking vanilla– Orlando Vanilla– from Mexico. We’ll have it on sale that night and part of the proceeds of every bottle will go to World Central Kitchen.
