Legacy Gallery is proud to announce the solo exhibition of artist, Dieglo, entitled, “Dynamite Bando.”

A continuation of his growing body of work, Dieglo is said to describe his work as:

“I grew up with an undocumented mother who worked long hours, and a father who wasn’t able to be present for most of my life. The fear of not knowing whether my mom is safe anytime she would leave the house has always left me hopeless as a child. The main character I paint is called the “Monster”. He was the protector I needed as a child; he was also the protector I wanted to be for my mother. In most of my paintings, you will also see a hidden image of Mickey Mouse. He represents the innocence of my childhood; he is also an homage to my favorite memories of the little time I used to spend with my mom while watching his show with her. My art is personal to me there are always hidden tributes to the people closest to me such as my parent’s birthstones on a crown, or the setting I choose to paint the monster in, since it would be self-reflective of where I am in life and what I am feeling at the moment.”
