More detailsAbout This Event
Artists & Industry Night is a chance for the industry of DC art to connect with you, the artist! Come network with us in DC’s artist-owned art gallery, Bad Candy! At 8:30 there will be a 30-45 min Q and A panel featuring Danielle Glosser and Sarah Jamison. Drinks are complementary to those 21+ you just need to bring yourself and a valid ID.
About the speakers:
Danielle Glosser is an Artist Consultant, Business Advisor, and Artist Representative, all in one. Her expertise in strategic planning, project management, research, writing and networking comes from years of working and building relationships in the private, nonprofit, and government sectors on social justice issues from inner-city schools in Oakland, California to The White House. These professional opportunities — coupled with her personal belief that the arts are central to igniting conversation and enhancing human understanding—moved her to help artists with the business elements of their practice and to share their work with the world.
Sarah Jamison’s artwork explores the notion of authentic experience and the human condition through the lens of contemporary digital life. Sarah is inspired by the emotion and conflict that underlies the mortal experience, and how it is expressed and interpreted through digital media. In 2017, her work was featured on the Smithsonian’s Folklife website as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Sarah’s solo exhibitions include IA&A at Hillyer and Latela Curatorial, both in Washington, DC. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in and outside the metro area and was voted 2018 Best Visual Artist in the Washington City Paper. Sarah continues to live and create in the Nation’s Capital.
