Every year, more than 50,000 visitors stroll down Mt. Vernon Avenue in Del Ray, Alexandria, between Bellefonte and Hume avenues — people are greeted by more than 300 artists (jewelers, woodworkers, pottery makers, soap crafters, glass makers, painters, sculptors and more), musicians and food vendors (hot dogs, BBQ, Indian, Mexican, pizza, crab cakes, homemade cider donuts and more). Kids activities have also always been a vital part of the festival — stuff your own scarecrow, paint a pumpkin, weave screen art, to name a few.
