About This Event

The District’s Most Epic Scavenger Hunt Returns!

Like having fun while making an impact? Join Game Genius for their 4th annual treasure hunt through D.C. which celebrates local organizations and builds public awareness around different forms of literacy. Teams of 2-5 are encouraged to sign up together. This year’s theme is literacy! Get your tickets before July 1st for an early bird discount. Once registered, there are two ways to play:

  • Team Contest: During the opening weekend, 10/1 – 10/2, compete against other teams in a race to finish the hunt
  • Self-Directed: After the opening weekend, 10/3 – 10/10, finish the hunt at your own pace

During opening weekend, players can approach the hunt with a competitive edge. Teams can race against the clock to finish the puzzle as fast as possible — competing for bragging rights and special prizes.

If you’re looking for a different pace, after opening weekend, complete the puzzle on your own time with the self-directed option. This gives teams the opportunity to leisurely enjoy the hunt without time pressures and fully appreciate how the game unfolds. Players can get lunch, continue exploring the nooks and crannies of the District, or simply head home and plan to finish the next day (once their feet and legs are ready to throw in the towel).

About Game Genius

Game Genius is a nonprofit organization dedicated to meshing play, architecture, education and philanthropy through innovative, cutting-edge events and activities. This year’s hunt, playfully entitled “Treasured Greens and In-Betweens” is an exciting product of Game Genius’ core mission.
