Hi-Lawn, one of Washington, DC’s largest, most expansive rooftops for outdoor dining, drinking and socializing, is celebrating two spring events – Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby – in one long weekend dubbed “Cinco de Derby.” From Thursday, May 5 to Sunday, May 8, the open-air roof of Union Market will play host to four days of festivities, including themed food and drink specials (think: juleps, margaritas, palomas, hot brown-inspired hot dogs and pulled pork nachos), plus live bluegrass music and DJ sets throughout the weekend.

Maryland-based Rock Creek Revival, an all-acoustic bluegrass band, will play on Saturday, May 7 from 2-4pm, while DJ Steve Lemz will follow, spinning tunes from 4-6pm. And on Sunday, May 8, local DJs Steve Lemz and Keenan Orr will play festive music from 1-4pm.
