Art All Night in Shaw
Shaw
More detailsAbout This Event
The District’s only free overnight arts festival, Art All Night, returns, in-person, to Shaw, the neighborhood where the festival began, on Saturday, September 25, 2021with an all-star lineup of visual and performing artists from Art All Night Shaw’s past presentations.
Artists and arts enthusiasts can wander around Shaw experiencing painting, photography, projections, crafts, fashion, live music, dance, poetry, and DIY activities in a variety of unique indoor and outdoor spaces located throughout the neighborhood. The Shaw Main Streets organization has taken an abundance of caution with regard to the current state of the pandemic with more outdoor activations and capacity limits. Masks are required in order to attend all Art All Night events in Shaw, both indoors and outdoors.
2021 marks the 10th anniversary of Art All Night DC, which Shaw pioneered in the District in 2011. This year the festival includes 16 DC neighborhoods. Presenter Shaw Main Streets aims to celebrate the diversity of visual and performing arts in the neighborhood and the city and welcome everyone back to the ability to enjoy art once again in their favorite neighborhoods. This year’s theme, “Welcome Back,” signifies Art All Night’s return after social distancing forced the event to go virtual in 2020 and aims to reinforce a sense of togetherness through art.
