Americana Artist Pi Jacobs at the The Pocket
The Pocket
More detailsAbout This Event
Acclaimed Americana singer, songwriter and musician PI JACOBS will perform Thursday, September 30 at The Pocket in Washington D.C.
These shows are in support of the Los Angeles-based artist’s LIVE FROM MEMPHIS album — her first album for the label and ninth overall — released last month (August 13) via Blackbird Record Label.
Singer, songwriter and musician Pi Jacobs is amplifying the concert experience on Live From Memphis, an inventive new album and her first for the Blackbird Record Label that places eight original songs alongside the personal stories that shaped them. Recorded with a full band, live at DittyTV in Memphis, the project offers a sincere and sometimes funny look at her formative years, her family relationships, and even a few lessons she’s learned along the way.
She is joined by Annie Stokes, a dark Americana and roots songstress from Virginia. Her lyric-based songs boldly explore issues such as anxiety, partnership, the changing environment, and growing up, while her melodies recall country classics. Fresh off the spring 2021 release of her third full-length album, “The One That Gets Away,” Annie has been focusing on connecting with audiences in the D.C. area and beyond.
